birthday gift shortlist

The toy aisle has too many things this kid likes. Keep only the gifts you can actually buy, then let them tap Open. One cell. One birthday gift. Soccer ball, Favorite doll, Kick scooter: every leftover box was already a yes. This pick a box birthday is that shortlist, not a crate in the mail.

How this pick a box birthday shortlist works

You already have the list. The child opens one cell. Drop a prize you cannot buy today, then Open once and wrap that winner. If you wanted a box to mail, this is not that. This page already has the birthday toys, not a blank editor.

Each open uses your browser's built-in secure random function (crypto.getRandomValues). Soccer ball through Glider plane still on the grid have a fair chance.

What belongs on the birthday gift shortlist

Keep only gifts you can buy today: budget, size, in stock. If a bike blows the budget next to a Classic yo-yo, drop the bike before Open. Every remaining label must be something this child already likes. No educational socks mixed into a toy pick. One open picks one present. Then buy or wrap that one. Browse More Party & Fun boxes if you need a different party grid later.

How to run the birthday gift shortlist

  1. Edit the shortlist. Click Edit prizes. Keep Soccer ball, Classic yo-yo, and Building robot, or swap in gifts you can buy today: budget, size, in stock. Delete the too-expensive cell. Keep 6 to 10 short labels. Edit this gift list in the mystery box editor if you need to save a copy.

  2. Check the kid yes-list. Every remaining label is something this child already likes. Cut anything they would not want if it lost.

  3. Open once. One cell. That is the birthday present. Do not add empty cells. Do not keep opening for a second gift on this pack.

  4. Let the child tap Open. Family watches the same grid. You are not picking a favorite for them.

  5. Buy or wrap that one. If Kick scooter wins, buy or wrap the Kick scooter and stop.

Copy the box if a co-host or grandparent needs the same shortlist. No account to try.

Three birthday gift rules before Open

Budget cut

A bike-tier cell sits next to Classic yo-yo. Drop the bike before anyone taps Open. Keep Soccer ball and Classic yo-yo.

Kid yes-list

Every cell was already a yes. Teddy bear does not open. They still wanted the teddy. Same shortlist works on a sleepover or backyard night if the gifts stay the same.

One gift after Open

Kick scooter wins. You buy or wrap that scooter. You do not open again so a sibling can "win" the Toy race car too.

Tips

  • Drop the prize you cannot buy today. Budget and stock before Open.

  • Keep every remaining cell on the kid yes-list. If they would not want that toy when it loses, cut it.

  • One open. One birthday gift. Do not add empty cells.

  • Keep the list PG. These cells are toys, not dares.

  • Copy the box if someone else is hosting the open.
