Add names, then pick a winner.

Tip: Press Enter or Space to pick quickly.

You have a list and one slot: who presents, who wins, who goes next. Paste the names, hit Pick Random Name, done. No signup, no install.

This is a name picker, not a number generator or dice roller. One name per tap. Turn on Remove winner after selection when you are drawing first, second, third place.

Why a plain random pick helps

Most of us have sat in a class where the same names keep coming up. Someone always thinks the pick is rigged: "why is it always me?" A hat works. Walking the roster works. We built this page for the fast version: paste the list, tap once, show the screen. Less arguing about who got chosen.

Some of us felt that way in school too. Maybe luck, maybe not. Either way, everyone in the room should see the same result.

Who Is This For?

Anyone with a name list and no time for drama.

  • Teachers: cold calls, groups, cleanup duty
  • Streamers and hosts: giveaway draws from a signup list
  • Facilitators and teams: standup order, chores nobody volunteers for

Ticket numbers? Head to the random number generator. Need groups, not one winner? The team generator splits the list. Need order for everyone? Try shuffle list first.

Real picks we have run

Who buys lunch at work

At work, we hit the same sticky chore: someone always had to go buy food for the group. Nobody wanted the job. Some days we argued about it for ages; other days everyone stood around waiting for a volunteer.

Eventually we agreed to use the name picker. We paste everyone's name in, hit the button, and whoever gets picked goes to buy the food. It is pure luck, so there are no hard feelings or a sense of being forced. What used to be an annoying task turned into something light and fair.

Stream giveaways from a signup list

When we stream, we often give away gifts to fans or pick winners from the comment or signup list. Before, we chose manually or used an awkward method, and people sometimes accused us of being biased.

Now we import a text file (one name per line) and let the tool pick. Whoever is selected gets the gift. If we need several people one after another, we turn on Remove winner after selection so the same person cannot win twice. It is fast, fair, and fans accept it because they can see the process on screen.

Three Setups People Actually Use

Same list, many picks

Leave Remove winner after selection off. Same person can win twice in a row. Fine for "who goes next?" all period.

First, second, third place

Turn it on. Each winner drops off the list. Need a log? Grab Download .txt from history.

When duplicate lines mean extra tickets

Paste the same name twice and that person has two chances. Turn on Skip duplicate names when each person should count once (letter case does not matter). The panel shows how many duplicates were skipped.

Is It Actually Fair?

Each pick uses crypto.getRandomValues() in your browser. Every name in the pool has the same odds on that draw.

Roll Animation is for the room. The winner is locked in before the shuffle starts. Reduced motion? We skip the show and land on the name.

Good for class picks and stream giveaways. Not a replacement for regulated lotteries. Check your local rules for big prize draws.

Quick Controls

The picker sits in two panels: Names List on the left (when docked) and the winner panel on the right. The guide below labels every control.

More on SpinWheelPlus

Volunteers are fine until the same loud voice wins every time. A visible pick gives the quiet kid or the late Zoom join the same shot, and everyone sees the same result. Coin flips, dice, yes/no prompts, and the rest live on the random tools hub. More on who builds the product on our about page.
