Prize Reveal Game for Teacher Reward Day
Open classroom rewards on the smartboard during reward day. Edit Homework pass and Extra recess, then open several cells in one period. Free in the browser.
Need a prize reveal game teacher can run on reward day? Put the grid on the smartboard, click Open, and the class sees the next reward in under a minute. Friday, last period. Students watch. Homework pass shows. The next student waits for the next cell.
How this prize reveal game works on reward day
Type the rewards this class actually gets: Extra recess, Line leader, Choose your seat, Sticker sheet. Keep eight to sixteen short labels. Open several rewards in one session so more than one student can win before the bell. The grid stays on the board between opens. Set a max so the period ends on time. Leave empty cells off. Every cell is a real reward.
Each open uses your browser's built-in secure random function (crypto.getRandomValues). Remaining prizes have a fair chance. The class can see the grid, so the next cell is not a quiet tap at your laptop.
A blank grid lives on the mystery box editor. On this page, Edit prizes, then Open.
How to run this prize reveal game on teacher reward day
Set this Friday's prizes. Click Edit prizes. Keep Homework pass, Extra recess, and Line leader, or swap in what you actually give. Delete anything that is not a real reward. Keep labels short enough to read from the back row. Browse more Classroom and Education boxes if you need a different classroom grid later.
Open several rewards in one session. Reward day is more than one student. Leave empty cells off.
Project the grid. Fullscreen on the smartboard. Students should read the cells without walking up.
Click Open for the next student. The grid stays up. Open the next cell when the next student has earned a reward.
Copy the box if a colleague takes the period. Share the hosted link so a co-teacher or substitute opens the same grid on the same board.
Set max opens. Stop when the period's rewards are done.
When to use this prize reveal game
Friday reward day on the smartboard
The class earned it. You load Extra recess and Homework pass, go fullscreen, and open one cell at a time while everyone watches.
Several students in one period
You have a short list of privileges and twenty minutes. Open, then open again. The rest of the class still sees what is left on the grid.
Same grid next period
Copy the box and send the link. A co-teacher or substitute projects the same prize list without your laptop file.
Tips
Keep 8 to 16 short reward labels. "Homework pass" reads from the back. A long sentence does not.
Open several rewards in one session. One open is not reward day.
Set max opens before you project so the period ends on the bell.
Use fullscreen on the smartboard so the back row can read the cells.
Copy the box if someone else teaches the next period.
Do not put student names in the cells. This grid is prizes, not a roster.
Leave empty cells off.
